Packers & movers in Kanpur

This is the city we are based in, not one we cover from somewhere else. The survey, the crew and the coordinator are all local.

A Kanpur move, run by people who live here

That matters more in Kanpur than it does in a newer city. The difference between a flat in Civil Lines and a house off Birhana Road is not the distance between them — it is whether a goods vehicle can get within fifty metres of the door, whether there is a lift, and what hour the building will let a crew start. Those three answers decide the vehicle, the crew size and the price, and they are the first things we establish at survey.

We would rather tell you at the survey that your staircase turns a wardrobe into a two-person forty-minute job than discover it on the morning and ask you for more money.

Localities we cover

Across the city, north and south of the Ganga canal. If your area is not on this list, ask — it almost certainly still works.

Local knowledge

What a Kanpur move actually involves

None of this is about the driving. It is about the hundred metres at each end.

The old city lanes

Around Birhana Road, Naya Ganj, Sisamau and the older Gumti lanes, a full-size truck often simply cannot turn in. The answer is a smaller vehicle doing two runs, or a shuttle from a larger vehicle parked on the main road. Either way it is a decision made at survey and written into the quote, not improvised on the day.

Society timing rules

Many of the newer apartment blocks in Swaroop Nagar, Vikas Nagar and along the Kalyanpur side restrict shifting to fixed hours and require a gate pass arranged in advance. A crew that cannot begin before ten and must stop by six has roughly seven usable hours, which changes what can honestly be promised for a single day.

Lifts, and the lack of them

A great deal of Kanpur's housing stock is three and four storeys with no lift, and plenty of the lifts that do exist will not take a mattress or a tall almirah standing up. We ask for the floor number and whether there is a lift at both ends, because the stair carry is the single biggest variable in the labour on a Kanpur job.

Traffic windows and road work

Crossing between the two halves of the city in the late afternoon is slow, and wherever metro or drainage work is active the approach roads narrow further. We plan loading for early in the day for this reason, which is also when the heat is survivable for a crew carrying furniture down stairs.

Industrial and commercial moves

Kanpur still has a great deal of small manufacturing and trade, and an office or workshop move here often means machinery, stock and paper records rather than desks alone. Those need weighing up individually — tell us what the heaviest single item is and whether it can leave through the door it came in by.

Monsoon and summer

Between July and September, cartons and mattresses need covering and loading has to happen in breaks in the rain, which makes the day less predictable. May and June are the opposite problem: we start at first light and the crew works shorter stretches. Neither stops a move; both change the schedule, so we say so in advance.

Moving out of Kanpur

Intercity work goes on a dedicated vehicle by default, with a shared part-load as the cheaper option when you can accept a wider delivery window.

These are the routes we are asked for most often. Road distances are approximate and given only to show the scale of the journey — the delivery window for your move is agreed in writing before the vehicle leaves, and we do not quote an arrival hour we cannot keep.

Questions about moving in Kanpur

Do you cover the whole of Kanpur?

Yes — the city and its immediate outskirts, on both sides of the canal. Our office is on Swaroop Nagar, so nothing in Kanpur is far enough away to need a different crew. The areas listed above are the ones we work in most; if yours is not named, ask rather than assuming.

Can a truck reach my lane?

In much of the older city, not a full-size one. That is a normal situation here and it has a normal answer: a smaller vehicle, more than one run, or a shuttle from a larger vehicle on the main road. What we will not do is turn up with the wrong vehicle and treat the extra work as your problem.

How much notice do you need?

For a local move within Kanpur, often only a few days, because no long-distance vehicle has to be committed. Intercity moves are easier with a week or more, especially at month end when tenancies change over. Ask for your date — if a crew is free we will say so, and if not we will tell you instead of overbooking.

How is a Kanpur move priced?

Four things: the volume being moved, the distance, how much packing you want us to do, and the access at each address — floor, lift and how far the vehicle can park from the door. We survey first, in person or by video call, and the quote is issued in writing with those parts itemised. We do not publish a fixed rate card, because a moving price given without seeing the inventory is not a price anyone can be held to.

Can you move a car or a two-wheeler as well?

Yes, in a covered carrier rather than driven, with the condition photographed at both ends. It is usually arranged alongside a household move out of Kanpur. More on vehicle transport.

Where exactly is your office?

113/186, Swaroop Nagar, Kanpur 208002. You are welcome to come and talk it through in person before booking anything. Contact details and hours.
