Terms of service
The terms that apply to quotes and bookings. The figures for your particular move — deposit, notice, cover and payment — are set out in your written quotation.
These terms apply to every quotation and booking. They are deliberately short, and they point to your written quotation for anything that varies by job — because it does vary by job, and a figure printed here would not be the one that applies to you.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms apply between the company and the customer requesting or booking moving services. Submitting an enquiry does not create a booking; a booking exists once we have confirmed it in writing.
2. Quotes and estimates
A quote is based on the inventory and access described during the survey. It is valid for the period stated on the quote itself.
If, on the day, the goods or the access differ materially from what was described — significantly more items, a floor or lift situation not disclosed, or a carry distance substantially longer than agreed — we will set out the revised cost and obtain your approval before continuing. We will not complete the work and present a different figure afterwards.
3. Booking, rescheduling and cancellation
What is payable to confirm a booking, how much notice is needed to reschedule, and the terms that apply if you cancel are set out in your written quotation and agreed before the booking is confirmed. Ask for them in writing if they are not clear to you — they should be on the quotation before you commit to anything.
If we have to reschedule, we will tell you as soon as we know and agree a new date with you.
4. What we need from you
To do the job properly we need you to:
- Describe the inventory and the access accurately at survey
- Obtain any building or society permission needed for the move
- Be present, or have an authorised adult present, at both addresses
- Carry jewellery, cash, documents and other high-value small items yourself
- Empty and disconnect gas cylinders, and defrost and drain appliances, before the day
- Check the inventory against the goods at delivery and note anything wrong on the sheet before the crew leaves
5. Items we cannot carry
We do not transport cash, jewellery, government documents, firearms, hazardous or flammable goods, loaded gas cylinders, perishable food, illegal items, or live animals. Pets should travel with you. Plants can be carried on local moves but travel poorly over long distances, and we will tell you so rather than take the booking.
6. Liability and claims
Transit cover is an option, not an automatic inclusion. The cover available for your consignment, what it covers, any limit, the window for reporting damage or loss, and what is excluded are confirmed in writing with your quotation before the move.
Nothing on this website is a promise of insurance or compensation. If cover matters to you, ask for the terms in writing with your quote and read them before you book. Report any damage to your coordinator at delivery and note it on the delivery sheet while the crew is still on site — that is what makes a claim straightforward afterwards.
7. Storage
Where goods are held in storage, they are inventoried in and out and charged by duration, separately from the move. The applicable rate, the billing period, the notice needed to release goods and what happens if charges fall into arrears are confirmed in writing before anything enters storage.
8. Payment
Accepted payment methods, when payment falls due relative to loading and delivery, and whether any part is payable in advance are set out in your written quotation. We do not ask for payment terms to be agreed on the day.
9. Complaints
Raise any problem with your coordinator first — most things are fixed fastest while the crew is still on site. If it is not resolved, contact us through the contact page, by phone or on WhatsApp, and ask for it to be escalated to the proprietor. Put the move reference and the date in your message so the job can be found quickly.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Kanpur have jurisdiction.
Last updated . These terms have not been reviewed by a lawyer. If anything here conflicts with the written quotation you were given, the quotation is the document that governs your booking.
